Guinea pigs are not only cute and cuddlesome animals but they also make great pets. These lovely little creatures display liveliness and inquisitiveness and are perfect for the new or experienced pet owner. If you trace back their history, you’ll see that the domesticated guinea pig have wild guinea pig ancestors from the Andres region. Unlike their wild counterparts, domesticated guinea pigs have been especially bred and domesticated and make perfect pets.
Guinea pigs do not require too much care and can live till five or seven years or even longer. With proper maintenance, adequate food, and suitable supplies (an adequate cage) and quality food and water, guinea pigs can stay healthy and fit, maintain a fine temperament, and make great additions to the family home.

Pets like their toys, and Guinea Pigs are no exception. However, they do get bored easily if they only have the same toys to play with over and over again, so it’s nice to give them a lot of variety.

There are some toys made just for Guinea Pigs, such as Bounce Back toys (you place a treat inside the toy and the cavy knocks it down to get to the treat, then it bounces right back up again). At only $6 or so, it’s an affordable purchase and most guinea pigs seem to like it.

Besides toys made just for guinea pigs, you’ll also find that many items designed for rabbits and ferrets can be enjoyed by your pet as well. Some guinea pigs also enjoy playing with cat and bird toys, but you must be cautious when using these items since they can be easily broken and swallowed by your pet.

What is a safe finishing oil for Baby/children’s Handmade wood toys?
I am looking to make out of exotic wood, not sure which one will I use, Baby and toddler toys for my 2 children. Can anyone recommend a safe finishing oil. Keep in mind babies and children like to put toys in their mouths….and if it is not safe…I won’t use….also, is there such a thing as an organic finishing oil that is safer???? I will appreciate your input!!!! Thanks
food safe mineral oil – need to apply multiple times and then every 3-6 mo of heavy use or so, it is what they use on kids table and chairs, some chew wood toys, countertops and cutting boards also I dont think organic would be safer but if you can find it go for it. It is really nice to sit and rub it into something while watching a movie or talking, just my always pregnant point of view.

Can anyone recommend a good chew toy/toys for my 4 month old labrador?

Kong toys RULE for labs, they are tough and entertaining! just make sure to get one the right size and you keep track to up size along the way.

Rabbit Toys Pet
Will providing enough chewing toys to my pet rabbit stop it from chewing other important stuff?
I keep my rabbit in her cage most of the time. But I allow her to roam about in the house for about an hour each day. It is then that she chews electrical cords, books, cloths etc. If I keep chewing toys in her cage will she stop chewing other stuff when I allow her to come out?
Your rabbit should have a t least 5 hours out each day. What a horrible life being stuck in a cage!!
If you have no garden you still have to do this in the evening if you are out all day. Don’t keep your rabbit confined to her cage just because you cannot be bothered to pick stuff up off t he floor and watch her. You should be bonding with her. I am not having a go at you, this is the only way i can express my feelings for the rabbit and if she can get to items you cannot be being careful enough.
