Animal Facts You Should Know Before Choosing The Right Pet To Bring Into Your Home
Buying an animal to keep at home should never be thought of or entered into lightly. So often we hear the horror stories about people that buy exotic pets only to later realise that it is very impractical or end up getting mauled or even worse. Choosing the right pet is very important for the whole family.
Certain dogs can often be unpractical especially if it is for a family unit, as well as the all too often didn’t think it through and the dog either ends up on the streets as a stray or in kennels, either way it is not where they belong…
That does not mean however that a dog will not make a good pet as in most cases they generally do, but in their early life as puppies they will need to be watched virtually twenty four seven, which means having eyes in the back of your head. On top of this it is important that they be taught the difference between what is right and what is wrong as early in their life as possible so that as they grow they will become the household loving pet that everybody wants and dreams of.

I’m sure many online marketers have kids and they often come over to the desk when you are busy working online to ask questions like “what are you doing dad/mom” etc.
How many of us actually tell them what we are doing or better yet show them?
I have been guilty of being “to busy” to answer questions or saying not right now daddy’s busy.
All this changed the first time I actually took the time to explain to my daughter just exactly what I was doing.
My daughter has some “challenges” that I won’t go into here but the result of me explaining a little bit of what I do and why to her has been no less than inspiring to me.
She took an interest in this whole marketing thing, especially wondering why people buy things and what makes them buy one item instead of a similar one.

The internet is full of work at home employment opportunities and the FDA can’t wait for you to submit your application. One slight problem, there is no compensation involved. Hope you didn’t wander over here looking for some extra disposable cash. Next problem, you didn’t really need to come here to enlist, you are already on the payroll. If you happen to use the sweetener Splenda, or sucralose as it appears in additive form, you already smack in the middle of one big research study being conducted to see just how bad this is for you. Take comfort, you are not really a rat, more a guinea pig in this study. You see, they already found it bad in rats, and didn’t quite have the time to get to us Guinea Pigs yet, as they needed it on the market, and fast.

You represent the nice furry, tan and white guinea pig with white whiskers. One step up the chain removed from rats, and a bit behind the rabbits and dogs as far as the testing process goes on the road to safety. Wait a minute, doesn’t the FDA go through years and years of clinical trails and extensive research studies before allowing any product on the market to ensure its safety? Sure, in a perfect world, that might be the case. Not too many people pull up to the curb at the FDA and confuse it with never never-land. It is an imperfect government agency that, like any other bureaucracy, is full of political pressure and incompetence.

The food and drug industry has hundreds of millions to pour into lobbyists. They pressure the politicians and they pull favors and pressure the FDA. The tried and true method that has been around since our country was founded. If you are a top flight research scientist in your field, you are working for the outside industries as the pay is too good to pass up on. The majority of research the FDA must sift through in the approval process was done by the company seeking approval. Research studies take money, time and personnel which the FDA is poorly lacking in. Would you expect any company seeking approval to submit a stack of data that concludes their product is unsafe or harmful? The data may be buried in some of it, but it is up to the under-staffed FDA to dig it out and it is rarely done. We, as consumers, become the needed study after it is on the market. We start dying or getting sick, they start looking back at the studies they needed to in the first place.

Guinea Pigs Home
Guinea Pigs have been kept as pets by human beings for thousands of years. Archaeologists have even found statues of them in Central America dating to over two thousand years ago. Of course, by now, they have become familiar to virtually everyone, though no one really knows how they got their name. What is, perhaps, less commonly known is that the domesticated species of the guinea pig (cavia porcellus) does not exist in the wild. This makes it hard to decide what to do when you are thinking about what to do for your pet guinea pig’s home.
There are several species that exist in the wild that resemble guinea pigs, and the habits of these creatures might offer some suggestions when creating a home for your guinea pigs. But animals closely related to guinea pigs do not tend to burrow homes of their own; instead preferring to seek shelter in burrows created by other animals.
Guinea pigs like to live in groups, so, if you are considering getting one as a pet, you may want to consider getting several. Unlike cats, for instance, which tend to fight even if they are generally friendly with one another, guinea pigs make and true and lasting bonds with one another. This has been proven scientifically. So, if you only get one guinea pig, he or she might get a little lonely. But, if you get several, they are more likely to thrive. Just make sure that you have enough space for the guinea pigs you decide to get. They may thrive in groups, but no one likes to be crowded.

Degu Cage

A good material to build a solid floor in my degu cage?
Im looking for a good material to build a solid floor in my degu cage. Right now the floor is grated and I dont think that is good for their feet. I was thiking maybe a sheet metal? Any suggestions well appreciated
Sheet metal would work very well. I’d just make sure no sharp edges are degu-accessible.
Also, I know people who have also used use kiln-dried pine boards, and then had old t-shirts/sweaters, and/or cardboard layered on top. Which didn’t last very long, since the goos would take the old t-shirts and bring them to the nest, and chew up the cardboard. xD Hah.

Degu Cage

Where can I get a natural branch for my degu cage?
I have 2 degus and I have heard that they very much enjoy having branches in their cage. Unfortunately there are many wood types that are highly toxic to degus. Please tell me where to find some non toxic. Thank you.
goto a reptile store. the wood is cheapand works for snakes and rodents. or you can use any fruit tree wood. soak it in dilluted vinegar to get all bacteria off of it. hope i helped. i just use the reptilewood for my rodents that arent food. i have about thirty fancy mice rats chinchillas and 2 degus

Degu Cage

What kind of material can you build a degu cage out of?
I am planning on purchasing degus in the near future and would like to build a relatively large cage for it. I have read that degus will chew through almost anything that’s not glass or metal. Would it work to build a cage out of plexiglass instead?
As a long time rescuer of Degus, let me tell you that unless you are living in a particularly hot climate an aquarium is the absolute best cage for a degu. If you get a wire cage be prepared to have the bedding kicked everywhere (even if you use those guards around the outside) AND they will likely chew the bars like gerbils do . The love to tunnel (again like gerbils) so the aquarium really lets them do so. We get large cardboard tubes and cut them up, burying them randomly in the shavings. They love them . Yes, building an aquarium-like cage from plexiglass will work just as well.
