It’s important that you provide your cavy with proper housing like a cage. This will prompt him to be more active and healthier. There are a few things you need to consider when buying Guinea Pig Cages. Some of these things include size, floor, and design. This article will give you a few tips for buying a cage for a guinea pig.
Size
Size is one of the most important considerations. Cavies need a lot of space to run around. If you want him to be more active, then you should buy the largest cage possible. At the very least, the one you choose should be 18 inches wide and 14 inches high. Some pigs like to jump, so relatively tall walls will prevent them from escaping.

Don’t Forget the Kids’ Leggings When You Shop For Baby Boy Clothes
Sometimes parents of newborns and young toddlers forget that certain clothes aren’t going to appear very boy-ish, take the example of baby leggings. When you think, “baby boy clothes,” kids leggings don’t automatically shoot to the top of your list, now do they? That’s understandable, but here are two reasons you need to re-consider. First off, baby clothes are exactly that: clothes for the littlest of the bunch: babies. If there’s one thing that babies love, it’s milk, of course! In a very distant “second” would be the other thing they love: it’s comfort. Babies love to be snuggled up close to mom or dad, and the last thing they want is to be uncomfortable. One of the best resources in your wardrobe will be the leggings you can pick up in finer children’s clothing stores, and the best place to find one (unless you live in New York or Milan, that is) is to shop online. The main points that you want to keep in mind are:
- Are these leggings comfortable?
- Are they quality-made, from sources I can trust?
<<=======IE: DO THEY PASS INDUSTRY SAFETY/QUALITY STANDARDS Do they fit well on my son? Does my son look astoundingly cute or what?

Unlike rabbits, Guinea Pigs are not quiet animals. Guinea pigs make a lot of noise – especially in groups – and are in constant communication with each other and with their owners. As a guinea pig owner, you may be interested in the meaning of some of these sounds.
Loud Squeaking
Loud, piercing squeaking (often referred to as “wheeking”) is generally a cry for food. Your pigs are informing you that they are hungry and asking (actually insisting) that you feed them – NOW. This sound is most often heard around your pigs’ regular feeding time and often starts when your pigs first see you or when they hear the sound of plastic bags “crinkling” or any other clue that sounds like you might be preparing food for them.

Buy Guinea Pig
The first thing you need to think about before buying a guinea pig is if it’s the right choice for you. These tiny little furry animals are adorable but they take a lot of responsibility. If you are a very busy person and will not be able to commit to your furry friend, then you should probably reconsider. First of all, your Guinea Pig Needs lots of exercise, attention, and caution towards other pets. You will also be responsible for grooming, dealing with any health problems that may approach, and the happiness of your pig. These are just some of the responsibilities you will have if you choose to buy a guinea pig. Ok, so you decided to buy a guinea pig. There are many options when buying a guinea pig. Some places to go are animal rescue centers, friends, breeders, pet shops, and even small ads. Once you bring your new pig home, let it get used to its surroundings. Try to minimize noise and commotion around it if possible. After a day or two try feeding it tidbits out of your hand so it can work on getting used to you. The guinea pig will eventually become more comfortable around you and you will definitely notice. Once you are ready to try and hold the guinea pig remember it may be very anxious and wiggly but once it knows you and trusts you, it will be happy to be held and not be so frantic. Let your pig run around whether it is in a free open space or a large pin. Don’t forget to name your pig. They are animals just like any other. A recommendation when owning a guinea pig is to do some research so you can better understand your new addition. Whether it is the internet or a book about Guinea Pigs, these are wonderful sources to check out. Taking care of a guinea pig can be a task. You need to make sure you have all the proper amenities to take care of your pet such as food, water, cage, etc. You may be wondering what you can and cannot feed your pig so I am going to list items that are good and not good. Guinea Pigs love fruits and vegetables. The following is a list of fruits and vegetables they can eat and this consists of red, green, or yellow peppers, carrots, apples, oranges, leafy greens, cucumbers, broccoli, green beans, grapes, bananas, dandelion greens, and strawberries. Now every guinea pig is different and has different tastes but they generally are accommodated to a variety of foods. There are some foods you absolutely cannot feed your pig and that consists of iceberg lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, potato peelings, raw beans, shelled nuts or beans, rhubarb, meat or fish, dairy products, chocolate, alcohol, cookies, or bread. If you have doubts on anything, contact your veterinarian. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Now that you have the basics for buying and or owning a guinea pig, have fun and enjoy your new friend.

Guinea Pig Care
They are cute, furry, and funny. Guinea Pigs though a small pet need love and care as would any other household pet. Their average life span is between 4 and 7 years, but can live as long as 11. With good guinea pig care they will live a good long time.
A healthy diet is most important when caring for your new pet pig. You want to make sure they have a balanced diet of quality hay, such as Timothy Hay, veggies like lettuce, carrots and certain weeds and grasses. Also in your guineas diet you should be including a quality food pellet. You can get suggestions from you veterinarian on which pellet would be best for your guineas care. Food pellets are important because they are full of the vitamin supplements your furry friend will need to stay healthy.
It is ok to spoil your piggy a little also. There are healthy pig treats available at most pet shops. Don’t over do it though, an over weight guinea pig is unhealthy. The best treats would be real veggies. You can monitor your pigs weight with an ounce scale. Keeping track of weight gain and weight loss is a great way to make sure they are healthy. You will want to report any major weight loss or gain to your veterinarian.

Everyone loves a guinea pig. But a this lovely pet cannot be properly taken care of without the right pet cage. Your cute little friend needs a spacious and clean environment to run free, play, and be kept healthy in. Without a properly cage, your little buddy would run everywhere and possibly get into everything imaginable. He is more likely to feel safe and at home in the proper cage. We all need a little advice from time to time when choosing these kinds of things for our animals. Here are some tips to help guide you in making the right choice for your little buddy:
1. Consider the size that you are looking for. This should be the first thing that you think of when choosing a proper cage for your pet’s. All animals need to be active in order to maintain health. Like humans, animals need room to walk and run. A cage that is too small is not going to allow your little friend to do that. A cage that is suitable enough for your pet’s size, gives him room to run free and play in, and also fits where you would like to put it will be just what you need in a good cage.
2. Pet’s like to remain comfortable just like any other animal does, so bedding should be your next choice. They are going to need something to sleep on. While you are looking at your cage, think about the amount of bedding that you would like to purchase. Guinea Pigs like to hide underneath things, it tends to make them feel safe and comfortable. You can even buy them a small house to place inside of the cage. Since these are rather shy and nervous animals by nature, you will need to do everything you can to make sure that they feel safe. Be sure to leave enough room outside of the bedding for them to be able to run around in. Most bedding is made out of hay or towels.

Guinea Pigs – 7 Interesting Facts You Should Know
As a guinea pig owner, you no doubt have a keen interest in learning about their origins, habits, behaviors and characteristics.
1.Guinea Pigs are herd animals – that is, their wild ancestors used to live together in groups called herds. As such, guinea pigs are very social creatures and do not do very well in solitary situations. Consider purchasing more than one guinea pig rather than a solitary pig. Two pigs is only slightly more work than one and your pigs will be very much healthier and happier if they live in the company of other cavies.
2.When housing two pigs together, a male a female couple make the best combination – just be sure at least one of them is “fixed” or you will soon be looking at your own private herd. Two females are the next best choice and almost always get along. Two males can sometimes be confrontational and aggressive toward each other unless they were raised together. Be very cautious when introducing two boars to each other as they may not initially get along.
3.As social animals, guinea pigs also enjoy the company of human companions. Your cavy may be shy at first and hide from you – that’s okay. Remember that this was a very useful trait out in the wild where almost everything they encountered was trying to eat them. If you are gentle and affectionate with your pet, they will in time, come to enjoy being petted and spending time with you.

Guinea Pig Grooming
A guinea pig can be one of the cutest and loving pets that anyone can have. These delicate little creatures will depend on its owner(s) to provide them with all the TLC that they will need. Providing food, water, and medical care are some of the basic needs that you are required to give your guinea. Guinea pig grooming is a must as well. If you have a short haired pig, grooming needs can be kept at a minimum. If you have a long haired pig, you will need to devote more time to grooming. The remainder of this article will go over all of the basics of pig grooming.
To keep your guinea pig’s coat in good condition, you must brush it regularly. This part of guinea grooming can be very relaxing for your pet, so they do not mind it at all. You should brush your pet with a small and moderately stiff brush and also a small metal comb. If you have a long haired piggy, you should brush and comb out its hair every day. If the coat is too long, see a groomer about having it trimmed. If you have a short haired piggy, you should only have to brush it every few days. If your guinea is shedding, try to brush its hair at least every other day. Brushing time is also a good time to check your guinea for skin problems such as lice or sores.
Bathing, at sometimes, cannot be such a good time for guineas . With your guinea grooming, if you do decide to give your piggy a bath, try to find a shampoo that is designed specifically for Guinea Pigs. Some brands of shampoos that are good to use are Bunny Bath by Four Paws, Hylyt Hypoallergenic Shampoo, and Epi-Soothe Shampoo. If you cannot find any of these, then it would be best to use a mild shampoo that is recommended for kittens. Some pig owners even opt to use baby shampoo. If your guinea gets lice, then your veterinarian will recommend a medicated shampoo to use. When bathing your pet, use a shallow pan of lukewarm water and make sure that only the pig’s body is lathered. Also make sure that you do not get any shampoo or water in its eyes or ears. You would want to rinse the pet well and to towel dry it. Keep your guinea pig in a warm place until it is completely dry.

When you first decide to bring a guinea pig into your home, you should be sure that there is a vet who specializes in small pet care in your immediate area. Many people may not consider the expense of veterinary care for other small pets like hamsters or gerbils who live an average of two years, but Guinea Pigs are not disposal pets. Because they can live on average 4-8 years, they should be considered long-term members of your family, just like a dog or a cat.
Why should you find a vet this early? Because guinea pigs can become ill quickly and deteoriorate rapidly. If you wait to try to find a vet after your pet becomes ill and run into difficulties, it might be too late to save your guinea pig.
With dogs or cats, owners generally take them in for a check-up when its time to renew their shots. Since guinea pigs don’t need shots, it can be easy to take their good health for granted. Your guinea pig should see his or her vet at least once a year as well.

What, Exactly, is Music ? by Ocean
What, Exactly, Is Music ? by Ocean
Music does not need to have been produced by organized sequences, whether planned or not. It need not have been channeled through an instrument made for melodic or rhythmic purpose.
Music is as simple as a random breeze through a pine tree, making a sweepingly beuautiful sound, or the resonating echo of a mockingbird’s song, or the might rush of a wave crawling up the beach.

Work at Home Parents – Kids & Online Marketing

How many of us actually tell them what we are doing or better yet show them?
I have been guilty of being “to busy” to answer questions or saying not right now daddy’s busy.
All this changed the first time I actually took the time to explain to my daughter just exactly what I was doing.

The Ultimate Guinea Pig Hutch
There are lots of different types of homes that you can provide for your pet cavy. Depending on your space limitations you might keep your pet cavies in an “enclosure”, or a “cage” or in a guinea pig “hutch”. You can define these any way you like, but regardless of how you do so each of these differently described cavy homes will need to provide very similar features, all of which are essential to the health and well-being of your pets.
For this article I am going to refer to the cavy’s home as a guinea pig hutch for the sake of consistency rather than switch back and forth between terms. In truth I would use, as you probably would also, a different one of these terms to describe different types of cavy homes. I think the term “hutch” usually conjures up an image of a larger wooden “cage” that stands on legs and is usually for keeping pets outside. Having said that, I think that most cavy keepers would agree with me that you should not house cavies outside regardless of how nice, or how big the hutch is, due to weather and predator considerations. A hutch is certainly suitable as an indoor home for your pet cavies.

Guinea Pig Cages – is Your Guinea Pig Cage Large Enough?
Your choice of cage is one of the most important considerations in determining the quality of life that your guinea pig will enjoy while living under your care. One must keep in mind that the cage is much more than just a container or enclosure to contain the cavy; it is the most major and important element in your pig’s immediate living environment. As such, the selection of a cage for your cavy is a serious matter and should be not be taken lightly.
When considering a cage, be sure that your pig has plenty of room to move around and be comfortable. Most importantly, your pig needs room to exercise. If the quarters are too cramped, your pig will not move around much and will not get its much-needed exercise. Guinea Pigs do not use exercise wheels like hamsters. Because of this they need a cage large enough to facilitate walking, hopping, “popcorning” and other full-body exercise.
Also remember that the pigs will not be the only objects taking up space in the cage. You will need to provide them with a comfortable nest box or other similar shelter. In addition, your pig will need other accessories such as a food dish, hay rack, water bottle and perhaps some toys.

Guinea Pig Health.
Whether you are thinking of adopting or you are already a proud owner of a guinea pig, how to properly care for this delightful creature is essential for good guinea pig health.
A good Veterinarian that specializes in exotic animals is an important factor in your Guinea Pigs health as it grows. Your vet will provide regular checkups and advise you in the best nutrition and exercise for your Guinea Pigs health. It is very important not to neglect taking your guinea pig to the vet regularly or not taking them at all. Choosing a vet in advance is also crucial in the case of an emergency. Waiting until the last minute to choose a vet during an emergency could possibly cause major repercussions in your guinea pigs health or life.
Proper nutrition is essential to guinea pig health and well-being. For guinea pigs there are many do’s and don’ts’ and not following the correct diet could cause weight gain, weight loss malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies, and overgrown teeth. Guinea pigs love a variety of foods such as pellets, grass, vegetables, and fruits. When buying pellets for your guinea pig make sure they don’t have added dyes, nuts, corn, dried fruits or meat and dairy byproducts. Rabbit pellets are toxic for guinea pigs and should never be fed to your pet as a substitute. Purchase pellets that are fortified with vitamin C as guinea pigs cannot produce their own and depletion could cause problems to your guinea pigs health such as Scurvy.
Grass may not seem so important but for the proper development of guinea pig health it plays a big role. Guinea pigs chew on grass to prevent their teeth from overgrowing, and also to help aid their digestive system. Orchard grass and Silk grass are considered a real treat for your guinea pig.

Lots of people think that buying a pet for a gift is a great idea and it might be if the recipient wants one and can look after it. However, experts tell us that having a pet helps to teach children to care for something besides themselves, and also a pet make life less stressful and even bring down blood pressure. So if you are determined to look for a pet for sale, make sure it is the kind of pet you really would like.

In today’s short article, we are going to talk about bottoms. No – I don’t want to discuss your bottom – or even your guinea pig’s bottom. I want to talk about the need for incorporating a bottom when designing and building your C&C cage.
Go online and search for web pages and articles on how to build a C&C cage. The vast majority of results returned will show how to build a cage that looks less like a cage and more like a corral. If you examine it closely, you will note that this simplistic class of designs consists simply of a Coroplast bin or tub surrounded by a wire grid fence.
And I am not knocking this system. It is an absolutely fantastic and innovative design. It is both effective and efficient in its simplicity. It provides a lot of space for the money. And in my opinion, of all cubes and Coroplast designs out there; this simple, basic “pig corral” is the most economical and cost-effective design that can be had. However, there is one caveat – and it is an important one.
In my mind, this class of bottomless cage is generally safe only when used on the ground. Let me explain why.

Get Peace of Mind for Your Faithful Friend with Pet Insurance
The people of the United Kingdom are famous for their love of animals – with thousands of pet owners in households across the country. Indeed, a recent piece of research suggested that the number of domestic cats and dogs in the UK alone was much larger than first imagined, with reportedly over a quarter of UK households having a pet cat and as much as 31% having at least one pet dog under their roof. Add to this other smaller pets such as rabbits, Guinea Pigs and hamsters and it is clear to see how much time UK residents have for their furry companions.
With so much time and care given to cats and dogs in particular, and with such long term friendships formed by owners with these pets, it is understandable that animal lovers can become particularly attached to their favourite pet over a number of years. So strong is the bond between pet and master, it is very often the case that if the animal becomes ill or has an accident then many pet owners will need to lay out hundreds of pounds for veterinary bills. Vaccinations are also a costly part of raising a cat or dog, and with the need for further additional booster injections the costs can quickly mount up.
With the difficulties of the current economic climate, finding the cash for vet’s bills can be very difficult, and as such more and more pet owners are taking out pet insurance for greater peace of mind and cover against large and unplanned for vet expenses. To find the best deals on pet insurance before you start looking for pets for sale.

Your pet guinea pig depends on you completely for it’s food and nourishment. To ensure your furry little friends is as happy and healthy as he possibly can be you have to make certain he’s eating the suitable varieties of Guinea Pig Food and getting every one of the necessary nutrients and vitamins. This information will make it easier to learn all you need to know to become a knowledgeable and loving guinea pig keeper.
The main food for your Guinea Pigs are going to be pellets. Young Guinea Pigs, under 10 months old, should be fed alfalfa hay-layered pellets. However, right after they reach 10 months of age you’ll want to switch them to timothy hay-layered pellets because alfalfa hay has elevated levels of calcium and high doses of calcium usually aren’t good for adult guinea pigs. A superb guinea pig pellet also needs to be hard and firm, making it necessary for your pigs to bite, chew and gnaw through it. Guinea pigs naturally enjoy chewing and gnawing on things so your little piggies will definitely love eating their hard pellets.
Ensure that you get pellets which are specifically formulated for guinea pigs and it is therefore a complete food, meaning it has each of the right nutrients in it. This includes an additional dose of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) which happens to be an important supplement to your guinea pig’s health. As in humans, ascorbic acid will not be naturally produced in guinea pigs. Deficiencies in vitamin C might cause your pet to develop scurvy. Should the pellet food that you’re feeding your guinea pig not be fortified with ascorbic acid, supplements can be bought in pet stores and can be put into their drinking water. Make sure you give your furry friend guinea pig approximately 20mg of ascorbic acid supplements every single day.
