Right now, as you read there are thousands of pets who have been rescued from harmful and abusive situations. Cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, ferrets, rats and even Guinea Pigs are living out their days in the small crowded cages of an animal shelter. Getting involved in Guinea Pig Rescue events can help to raise funds, spread awareness and show support for the endless hours worked by animal shelter employees and vets. Here are some ways which you can help a guinea pig rescue organization.
One of the most valuable things you can donate to an animal rescue organization is time. Approach a local guinea pig rescue program and offer to work a few hours a week, cleaning cages, supplying fresh vegetables and fruit or even taking some time to handle and play with the pigs.
Volunteering can be incredibly rewarding as well as fun. Even though you may not have the space to adopt many Guinea Pigs, each one will work their way into your heart and you’ll feel as though you made a difference in their day.
