Sugar Glider Cage

Can i use cat litter for the bedding in my sugar glider cage?

Its very hard cleaning and using the stuff i am using for bedding so would cat litter hurt a sugar glider?

Nope. I don’t suggest it one bit, because people don’t recommend people to even use cat litter for training let alone using it as a bedding! NO + I have a sugar glider my friend’s sugar glider got that stuff in her lungs and that was it for her. so no don’t.

How to keep chinchilla’s poop from coming out the sides of Ferret Nation cage?

My chinchilla is in the 1 level Ferret Nation cage. The cage is great but the problem is that his poop ends up on the floor. If I put bedding in there it ends up on the floor as well.

It is really never safe to house two animals of different species together except for special cases such as dog friendly cats and cat friendly dogs (not even all dogs and cats can be kept together). Even if they seem friendly, maturation and hormones can kick in and one of them could die.

Many people will tell you that you can enjoy the things that you want as long as you do it in moderation. While that may be true for somethings, it is not true where all foods are concerned. It has been said that the 4 leading causes of death in the United States are directly related to a person’s diet. As an Orange County Personal Trainer, I have compiled a convenient list of the 5 most deadly foods that you need to avoid.

1. Soda – Most people do not realize that a can of soda actually contains as much as ten total teaspoons of sugar, not to mention a grand total of 150 calories. If it is not caffeine free then it can have anywhere from 30 to 55 mg of caffeine as well as sulphites and artificial food colors. Many think that they are ok with drinking diet sodas but they can actually have more unhealthy artificial sweeteners. One of the main problems with people today is that they have become accustomed to drinking soda everyday so it is more or less a staple of their daily life. It has been shown that at least 56 to 85% of kids have at least one soda a day. A major part of the problem is that sodas have become a staple in many people’s diets. If you really think about it, sodas are actually a major problem area in almost everyone’s diet.

2. French Fries and Potato chips – When foods are fried or baked at high temperatures, they can form a carcinogen and neurotoxin which is otherwise known as acrylamide. It is known that acrylamide is the cause of literally thousands of cancers diagnosed every year in Americans alone. Studies have shown that the normal amount of acrylamide that is allowed by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is exceeded by at least 300 times with some of the top name brand of chips as well as French fries

Chinchilla’s are wonderful little creatures that almost always get referred to as another type of animal. There really aren’t a great deal of people who really know what a chinchilla is or what it does for that matter. Some people mistake them for bunnies, while others may even think they resemble a squirrel. The care of a chinchilla is not a particularly hard  process, but there are some necessary steps to follow.

One of the things you will notice about them is their insatiable appetite for chewing on anything that comes their way. Literally their first reaction to it will be to discover how much they can nibble on it. It is actually quite an adorable process to watch. Chinchilla’s are anything but ugly. Their chewing habit can even be entertaining to watch as they also usually use their small little hands to hold the object that you give them. Feeding a chinchilla this chewing habit, but as this process is natural for him, it cannot be totally contained.

Another care tip to remember is that chinchillas must have a dust bath on a regular basis to keep their fur healthy and protected. Dust baths are a heigenic step that that must not be ignored. Much in the same way that we address our own needs for a bath, we must maintain the heigenic needs of our pet.

My dogs are afraid of nail clippers and I don’t want to scare them. Has anyone used the Pedi-paws trimmer that files instead of cuts? If so, is it noisy & did your dogs like it?

no, instead I went to wal-mart and bought a inexpensive womans nail care kit for about 7 bucks. it runs on 2 aa batteries.. It workes great and is quiet, My dog is a small breed so it might not be powerful enough for big dogs..

I am trying to find a picture of a ring that is an engagement ring and band all in one?

Does anyone know what type of ring this is called? It is a wide gold band with a raised solitare diamond in the middle. It was popular in the 70’s or 80’s. The band is probably about 10mm wide. It has been said that the 4 leading causes of death in the United States are directly related to a person’s diet. Below is a list of the 5 most deadly foods that you need to avoid.

1. Soda – Most people do not realize that a can of soda actually contains as much as ten total teaspoons of sugar, not to mention a grand total of 150 calories. If it is not caffeine free then it can have anywhere from 30 to 55 mg of caffeine as well as sulphites and artificial food colors. Many think that they are ok with drinking diet sodas but they can actually have more unhealthy artificial sweeteners. One of the main problems with people today is that they have become accustomed to drinking soda everyday so it is more or less a staple of their daily life. It has been shown that at least 56 to 85% of kids have at least one soda a day. A major part of the problem is that sodas have become a staple in many people’s diets. If you really think about it, sodas are actually a major problem area in almost everyone’s diet.

2. French Fries and Potato chips – When foods are fried or baked at high temperatures, they can form a carcinogen and neurotoxin which is otherwise known as acrylamide. It is known that acrylamide is the cause of literally thousands of cancers diagnosed every year in Americans alone. Studies have shown that the normal amount of acrylamide that is allowed by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is exceeded by at least 300 times with some of the top name brand of chips as well as French fries

cat&&dog….?

We are getting a dog….. but my cat hasnt had much contact …… last time we had a family friends dog over …my cat was hissing and spitting ..
My mums friend said when we get the dog to introduce them slowly….
Will my cat get used to a dog??

Im not sure…I have 2 cats..both brothers and I recently got a new dog. The dog isn’t even that big its medium size and they stil hate her! Its been almost 2 months now and i feel so bad. I feel like Im really forcing the dog into there lives and the house. I cats may resent me for it. I have thought a lot about giving the dog up and I still might. Maybe if your dog has a fenced in yard you can always put it out real quick if things get heated. I don’t have a fenced in yard and I wish I did, I think it would help a lot…hope i helped.

Ovo Suite

Is the habitrail ovo suite good for two dwarf hamsters?

I have the habitrail ovo suite and I don’t know if its good for my hamsters. Should I get an extra maze for it…???Or is it big enough.Please help!!!

I have an Ovo setup too (pic in my blog below). I have mixed feelings about them. They do look really cool, but they are not real spacious and the main modules has a lot of parts to it that fall off sometimes. They don’t fall off enough for the hamster to escape, but it is still quite annoying. As cages go, the Ovo is a little pricey too.

I kept three Winter White hamsters in my Ovo setup for a while without problems, but mostly because I took out the oversized wheel and superfluous “stair case” thingie. The main unit is kinda cramped. Adding a maze module will definitely help…the maze gives the hamsters the illusion of much more space because they can crawl around in it like a burrow.

I right now own a mouse and don’t get one. She stinks and doesn’t want to play as much. I had a hamster and he was nocturnel, noisy at night and stunk even more they bit a lot and all i did with him was watch him!
If you want afun interative rodent get a gerbil. My friend has one and they are trainned, they also are cute, and they love to be with people and they are almost oderless becuase they live in the desert and don’t drink much water so no pee! So I would say a gerbil, because I am getting a gerbil soon have fun! and also if you get a gerbil get something he can chew on because they trim down their teeth!
