What is a safe finishing oil for Baby/children’s Handmade wood toys?

I am looking to make out of exotic wood, not sure which one will I use, Baby and toddler toys for my 2 children. Can anyone recommend a safe finishing oil. Keep in mind babies and children like to put toys in their mouths….and if it is not safe…I won’t use….also, is there such a thing as an organic finishing oil that is safer???? I will appreciate your input!!!! Thanks

food safe mineral oil – need to apply multiple times and then every 3-6 mo of heavy use or so, it is what they use on kids table and chairs, some chew wood toys, countertops and cutting boards also I dont think organic would be safer but if you can find it go for it. It is really nice to sit and rub it into something while watching a movie or talking, just my always pregnant point of view.

What is the EPA registered list for spot on flea and tick products about?

Is it a list of registered bad products or a list of good products?

I read the article about this in my local newspaper anf according to it, the EPA was pulling the list they originally posted listing flea products that were dangerous. Other papers reported it as well. Since then the list has been pulled. don’t know why. Follow the money.

poison is a bad idea as they never die where the poison is. they usually die in their nest which may be hard to find, hard to reach, impossible places. and dead mice smell horrible.

Do you have the PediPaws Pet Nail Trimmer?

A friend of mine bought one and it is pretty much useless. They are basically underpowered Dremels with a ‘guard’. The guard gets in the way when you are trying to round off the tip and I personally think that it makes ‘quicking’ the dog more likely because you can’t see how far down you are grinding. They are also very very slow and noisier than a Dremel.

On petco.com, and the petco stores, there is a S.A.M. brand cage for 19.99 that is a school bus style, so just look at it on petcos website, and then find it at your local petco. next, the hamster. Pick out the biggest, shiniest one in the cage. They are anywhere from 7.99 to 10.00 at petco.

Small Animals

small animals?

what small domestic animals is best for a 15yr that does not require too much attention(e.g dog)
i am the 15yr but i meant for animals that are not hard to keep like ferrets.

Oo for you I’d suggest a rabbit, or a rodent of some kind like a hamster or rat, small but manageable, in a couple of years you might be off to uni, you need to consider the lifespan of the animal you get, if it is something larger like a snake or a tank of fish will you be able to take it with you, or would you consider having an animal with a shorter natural lifespan, like a hamster or mice?
Plus you have to realise there is a lot of work involved, you have to take responsibilty for cleaning it out every week and vets bills, believe me, just cos an animal is small, does not mean the vet bills are cheap!

Want makes an easier to care for pet, a rabbit or Chinchilla?

What makes an easier pet, rabbit or chinchilla? and if a rabbit (which I believe so) how can I talk my sister out of getting a chinchilla (she wants one real bad, but is a college student and doesn’t have enough time yet can still provide about 3 hours of attention daily w/out my help which I will be doing.)

i believe a rabbit is easier because with a chinchilla you have to make sure not to get it wet cuz it can die if it gets wet. also they cost alot more than a rabbit. the average price for a chinchilla is about $110 some are even more then that!….and they are real skiddish, they dont like to be held as much….but with a rabbit it can hop around, it can get wet(if needed to be cleaned, you still shouldn’t clean them that much only clean small animals after they have been sick to help them) and you can hold them. I myself am a rabbit owner and i just cant get enough of them! Don’t listen to people when they say a certain animal gets sick more than the other….that only happends if you dont take care of it the right way….any animals can get sick!….but people who care keep them from dieing….and don’t get a pet if you are not willing to give it the love and ATTENTION it needs!

i put a paper bag in my guinea pigs he tore it up and i don’t know if i should put a new bag in his cage?

it is a brown paper bag

he probably tore it up for nesting, its fine, i put paper towel in my hamster cage and my hamster absolutely loves it, she tears it up and puts it in the corner where she sleeps.
you can put another in, i usually every three or four days when i clean the cage
