Ferret Guinea Pig

What is the best small pet to have a teacuppuppy,guinea,pig,ferret.rabbit,hamster,gerbil?

I am getting a pet mom said to get a guinea pig but she said i also can pick something else if i want. Can you tell me why you think i should get this pet and how old does it usually? get I am 9 years old. my top choices are a hamster,gerbil,teacup puppy,guinea pig. thanks for the help

Hamsters are lovable but so are guinea pigs i have both. when i was ur age i had teh smae question well here is my answer. I htink hamster or guinea pig are great pets.
hamsters – if u get one dont get a dwarff yet becuase they nibble and are known to bite. regular blck bear hamsters are freindly and great. They are easy to take care of too . Most of my hmasters lived to 5 years . They normaly live 2-3 =)
guinea pigs – they rock ! loveable and kind. Tehya re quite fast but i think they are gental. They are soem of teh only pets that can have complet eye contact with u and realy looka nd listen .

It is very difficult to bond with adult gliders, so if you have an adult than it is going to take time. You need to literally wear them for at least a few hours per day. You have to get something called a bonding pouch and during the day while the glider is sleeping, you wear the pouch around your neck. This gets them used to your smell. Don’t bother them while they are in there, just wear the pouch, you want them to feel secure in the pouch.

When you are not wearing them, you need to spend time just sitting with them. Get a small tent, and go in there with the glider. Do not try to touch them, or pet them, just let them jump around, and on and off of you. By not touching them, it lets them know that if they come near you, you will not grab at them, or try to touch them. You need to build a respectful relationship and have trust before even trying to really touch them.

Bonding with an adult glider is a slow and sometimes frustrating process. It can take months to years to develop a relationship with an adult glider. The key is patience, and understanding. be aware that you may never bond with them, b/c that is a possibility. Time builds trust, so don’t try to rush it.

Chinchilla Guinea Pig

What pet should I get? Chinchilla, Guinea Pig, Rabbit or Ferret?

I’m 15 years old and looking for a pet. I need to decide from Chinchilla, Guinea Pig, Rabbit or Ferret.

Rabbits or ferrets are the only two of those that you can definitely litter train, and of those ferrets are VERY high maintenance…think more than four hours interaction with them every day, plus feeding, watering and cleaning daily. They are difficult when it comes to litter training them, and even then they arent perfect, they also bite and it can take a year to train them not to. if you want a litter trainable animal, I’d choose a pair of rabbits…they are social and like company.

How do I make a parrot pinata? shreddable bird toy?

These are the kinds of bird toys I would like to learn to make.

It looks like they used dyed palm leaves and some have sisal twine. Not sure where you would find the palm leaf material, unless you live in the tropics, but sisal twine is available at any hardware, garden center or craft store. If it’s ok for birds to chew cardboard, you could use the TP or paper towel tubes, wrap them with the twine and see what happens..

How do i relief depression?

I got bullied when i was in greade 7-8, but after high school everything is fine. No one bullies me, i have friends. But i still feel depressed all the time, and it is causing me to have digestion issues which leads to other thins eg weight lost. HOw can i relief depression?? I am in grade 10 now, i play on my high school basketball team, and i am pretty active. But everything just frustrads me sometimes, and my digestion is reall bad. what can i do?

it’s all about focusing on the good and not the bad. what makes you happy and proud. and you like to do. you don’t need to sit around and think about things too much, that’s what makes it worse. maybe medication, therapy, or even maybe a physicarist would make things better. hope things get better for you =].

When a puppy is born and has the opportunity to learn how to act around other puppies, they can quickly adapt to a new home with a new human family. As highly intelligent dogs, a beagle puppy can learn new behaviors and be ready and willing to demonstrate their new abilities.

How can I convice my parents to let me have a rat/hamster?

Ok… Now don’t be all: “Ohh… Rats and all other rodents are filthy!!! Why do you want one of them??????” rats actually love to be clean and they always clean themself. Hamsters… Well they just sleep in their crap… But still I really want either one they are so cute and I haven’t had a pet in a while… Our family dog died of old age last year…

First off My choice would be a rat. They are so much smarter than a stuid hamster. They are like miniature dogs! I read on the internet they are starting to use them in the military instead of dogs because they don’t set off mines. Isn’t that cool!?

Can a hamster use a hammock for a nest?

I used to have ferrets and still have the cage and old hammock. Im thinking about getting some hamsters. So can they?

Hamsters have this amazing talent. They can flatten themselves and fit through small spaces. They also love to chew everything. So I think if you used a ferret cage you would end up with a chewed up hammock and a hamster that escapes out of the cage.

Pig Hamsters Rats

Is it better to have dogs, cats, pigs, rats, hamsters, or pigs???

It depends what you prefer and where you live. If you live in a small apartment or someplace without a lot of space a dog might be a bad idea and a pig is definitely a bad idea. But if you live somewhere where there’s a lot of room then get whatever you want… If you want a pet that’s more of a companion I would say a dog, cat or pig. If you want a short-term pet a rat or hamster is good because they live for like a max of 4 years.

Edit: I get the feeling you really want a pig (you said pig twice in your question). If this is what you want them do some research and figure out if you can work a pig into your life.

could you list all the things i will need to set up a cage for an adult Veiled Chameleon? (including the measurements please)

you’ll need a mesh screen terrarium because chameleons need ventalation. a uv and heat bulb, you DONT need a water dish because chameleons don’t drink from sitting water, they’ll lick the water from leaves of plants so you can either mist the cage down several times a day or create something that allows water to drip down onto leaves from the top of the cage. a cup of water with a small hole poked in the bottom works fine. chameleons like vines and plants to climb on beacuse they’re arboreal. live plants are better. a diet of insects, mainly crickets, sprinkle them with calcium dust. some good substrate that hold in moisture well and thats about it. all these items can be found at better pet stores.

Sugar Gliders are amazing pets. Some people find the most rewarding part of owning a glider is watching them grasp and play with their toys.

Watching a sugar glider hold food and other objects in its tiny hands is very cute and fun to watch. Baby sugar gliders (called joeys) like to ride on their parents back, which is very cute and entertaining. Sugar gliders are very sensitive to light and should not be exposed to bright lights or sunlight as it may damage their eyes.. Gliders need human interaction and exercise outside of their cage everyday as they are very social, playful creatures and get bored easily.These pocket pets make a variety of sounds as a means of expressing themselves and communicating. Sugar gliders make amazing pets. They are very curious, extremely intelligent, playful, loyal, relatively clean, and don’t require vaccinations.. They have a lifespan of about fifteen years in captivity which is also considered a positive aspect by many people, in the wild they generally only live six to seven years. Introduced into the United States approximately 20 years ago as domesticated house pets, Sugar Gliders are an extremely popular companion pet. The Sugar Glider is around 6.3 to 7.5 inches in length, with a tail almost as long as the body and almost as thick as a human thumb, and weighs between 3 to 5.3 oz. The fur is generally gray, with black and white patches on the underbelly and black or gray ears. Other color variations include leucistic and albino. The tail tapers only moderately and the last quarter of it is black, often with a dark tip. The muzzle is short and rounded. These animals make great pocket pets, are not difficult to breed where legal, love attention and human interaction, and are amazing physically as well as intelligent. Gliders (as the name suggests) can glide very long distances, recorded up to fifty five yards and manage to steer very well. Do you think every “domesticated” cat in the USA should have a home, or is it OK for there to be wild cats?

I’m just wondering what you guys think, because the norm seems to be that people think most cats should be spayed and have an owner. Personally, I think that’s ridiculous, because the cat’s natural habitat is outside hunting for food like all carnivores.

Most people think that because that is the right answer. “Domesticated” means domesticated, not wild. Non-native wildlife is detrimental to the environment. Felis Catus (domestic cat) is not a native wildlife species.

Rat Degu

mouse rat degu or rabbit?

which one should i get/ adopt as a pet?

What one you should adopt is one you will be able to properly take care of. You need to do a LOT of research about all of them to see if you can take care of them.

Degus are the hardest to take care of. Then rabbits. I’ve never had a mouse (though I was going to adopt some, but we ended up getting hamsters instead) or a rat, but they are fairly ‘easy’. They still need to be taken care of properly, though.

My person opinion is degus. They are great. (I do have two bunnies, too. They are adorable, as well. And my bun has wry neck, so he’s on a medication now.)
