From what I understand, a “flight cage” is a cage that is large enough for a bird to fly around in. For a quaker, that might not be a “flight cage” but it exceeds the minimum size for a suitable cage. Also keep in mind that even if your quaker has room to fly in there, he still needs plenty of time outside of the cage to socialize with you!

In fact, my friend who owns a quaker has a cage that looks very similar to that one, and her quaker is as happy and healthy as can be. Of course, there’s more to that than just a good cage. ^_^

I would say that this is a suitable cage for a quaker parrot; as I said it exceeds the minimum, and bigger is always better! From what I read, this cage should be roomy and easy to clean (that coating is awesome).

Anxiety Depression

Anxiety depression is a serious mental illness that affects millions of people everyday. People who experience an anxiety disorder have lives that are filled with overwhelming anxiety and fear.

Brief anxiety can be caused by a stressful event such as doing business presentations, having a first date, or giving an important speech. This depression, however, is chronic and will get progressively worse if left untreated.

Many different kinds of anxiety depression exist, and each one can cause irrational fear and dread in a person.

One form of such depression that affects roughly 2.4 million adults every day is the panic disorder. A panic disorder is when an individual experiences feelings of terror that attack suddenly and repeatedly with no warning.

Anxiety Depression Relief

What medications would be good for depression, anxiety, insomnia, stress relief?

This is a high stress time. I’ve been diagnosed as depressed. Insomnia is really bad, to the point I dread going to bed. As soon as my head hits the pillow, my mind goes into high gear. Although I have a hard time losing weight normally, I’ve been dropping weight like you wouldn’t believe. Has anyone taken medications for problems like this, & was it effective? I finally got an appointment with the doctor this Friday. I’d appreciate recommendations from anyone. Thank you!

  Selling toys to kids is no child’s play. Toys “R†Us, a $13.79 billion company based in Wayne, N.J., is trying to run with the market leader — Wal-Mart — by building toy “supercenters†around the country.
  The grand opening of the first toy superstore in Georgia is Friday.
  The store is filled not just with toys, but the latest hopes of a retailer that has seen competitors like FAO Schwartz file for bankruptcy. And Toys “R†Us has faced losing market share to Wal-Mart and Target’s low prices.
  Called “R†stores for short by the company, Toys “R†Us is putting cribs, strollers, diapers and onesies under one roof with Hannah Montana electric guitars, Harley Davidson-branded Big Wheels and Ripsticks, a two-wheeled skate board.
  The supersized, 70,000 square foot toy store here is anchoring a new strip mall, The Plaza, at 3480 Financial Way in Buford, a suburb near Lake Lanier. It’s the seventh “super†toy outpost nationwide for the 60-year-old retailer. Toys “R†Us CEO Gerald Storch says 19 more are planned this year.
  In Georgia, there are 17 Toys “R†Us, nine Babies “R†Us stores, one side-by-side store and one supercenter.
  “Eleven years ago, we started Babies ‘R’ Us as a standalone (store),†said Storch. “But we fractured the traffic so parents would have to choose between them. In this era, people don’t want to go to multiple places.â€
  Toys “R†Us also has upgraded its aisles and inventory to look more like Target, known for fashionable gear and trendy looks at a cheaper price.
  “The stores were not in fighting shape when I got here,†said Storch, the former No. 2 executive at Target who’s headed Toys ‘R’ Us since 2006.
  Toys “R†Us is owned by KKR, Bain Capital, and real estate firm Vornado Realty Trust. They took the toy chain private in a $6.6 billion deal in 2005.
  Storch says Toys “R†Us is not a discount brand like Target, and the changes reflect the desire to be “the authority†on everything from baby bottles to toys. He emphasized he is not copying Target, but doing things that make sense for selling toys — like branding aisles pink for girls or blue for boys, and including pictures on the signs so kids can read them too.
  Three toy industry watchers said it makes sense for Toys “R†Us to team up Babies “R†Us because the baby business is year-round, while toys are seasonal, peaking over the holidays.
  “Babies ‘R’ Us is successful and not seasonal,†said Sean McGowan, an analyst with Needham & Co. in New York. “That’s probably the biggest ‘Aha.’ “
  He said this toy story is really turning around. “This was a broken story,†he said. “It looked like the chain couldn’t survive Wal-Mart and was on its death march. But they didn’t separate [Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us], they hired some world-class executives and it started to dawn on everybody that they are really going to turn around.â€
  Howard Davidowitz, chairman of Davidowitz & Associates, a national retail consulting and investment banking firm in New York, said that Toys ҠUs “has gone through a lot of pain.â€
  About 15 years ago, when he consulted for the company, Toys “R†Us led the American toy market with a 28 percent market share, he said. Today, their market share has dropped to 16 percent, with Wal-Mart at 26 percent. Target is third.
  “And the toy department in Wal-Mart is only 5,000 square feet, but they have a lot of stores,†said Davidowitz. By combining the babies and toy stores, Toys ‘R’ Us is trying to create a destination, he said, which is “logical.â€
  Jim Silver, editor and chief of Toys and Family Entertainment in New York, said the new concept makes sense.
  Said Silver: “People are creatures that often don’t change. This will be a one-stop shop from the time a child is born.â€
  That was true for Amy Rundell of Duluth, who was shopping at the new store in Buford on Wednesday. She has a 19-month-old daughter, Molly, a 7-year-old son, Max, and is expecting another baby.
  She was happy she won’t have to drive out of her way anymore to go to a Babies “R†Us store. “This is great. One stop,†she said, hauling the loot that the kids’ grandmother and great-grandmother had just bought for them, including blocks, coloring books, school supplies and baby food.
  Storch said that’s the point.
  “We think we can do even better with Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us by merging their strengths,†he said.
  The company still plans to build more Babies “R†Us standalone stores. Bay laurel, or laurus nobilis is a drought tolerant perennial tree native to the Mediterranean region. The fragrant, leathery leaves are dried for use as a cooking herb and in the pantry. Other names for this aromatic plant with deep green leaves are Sweet Bay, Grecian Laurel or Roman Laurel. Bay leaves can be added to spaghetti sauces, stews or soups for flavor. Mature Grecian Laurel trees flower in clusters of white to yellow blooms which turn into small berries. Bay leaves are dark green and up to 4 inches long and 2 inches across.
Sweet bay can grow into a tree 40 feet tall. Bay can tolerate low water in the garden and poor soils. They like full sun to part shade although in hot areas they benefit from a bit of shade during the hottest part of the day for the help www.july4-recipes.com. When consulting the Oracle at Delphi the priestesses of Apollo held a bay leaf under their tongue to help induce their trances. It has been used to banish poltergeists, bad luck and to break evil spells. The sudden withering of a bay tree was said to be a bad omen for its’ owner.
Another similar fragrant tree is called California Bay, Oregon Myrtle, or Umbellularia Californica. These shrubs are native to California and the US southwest. They can grows to 20 feet tall, or taller with more water. California Bay should be used carefully in the garden as it has been identified as a host plant for spores carrying Sudden Oak Death. Buy only from reputable nurseries and this should probably not be used outdoors as an insecticide. Their leaves are much more fragrant and more bitter. It can be used in cooking but in much smaller proportions. Use in moderation; California Bay is also called Headache Tree. The almond sized nuts can also be roasted and eaten.

One of the easiest exotic pets of keep is the land hermit crab. With out the need to walk or wash the dog , or the problems that go along with the litter box, you can see where the crab would be much simpler. With no bird cage to clean or no fish tank to partly drain and then readjust the chemicals of the water, you can see where the land hermit crap may be easier. Also there is no problem if you are allergic to the animal fur.

With out all of the needed attention listed above for the other pets, the hermit crab supplies are also just a little bit simpler also. The first item would be the hermit crab cage of course. A 10 gallon fish tank is a good start after the crab of course. If you live near the beach, you can just walk out there and help yourself. Some of the souvenir shops along the beaches will also sell the crabs. If not near the ocean, most of the pet stores will offer the hermit crabs. Most of the places will sell the small, plastic carrying case. Please do not use this as a home for your pet. It is really to small after the hermit crab supplies are placed inside there as well. If it is possible, try to purchase more then one or two of the crabs.. The term of the hermit crab is wrong as the crabs travel in packs and have been known to have more then 100 crabs together. It is believed this also makes finding and exchanging the hermit crab shells to be easier with more crabs around.

The crabs like to do two different things, dig and climb. It is suggested to have the bottom of the cage part sand and part forest bedding. The sand can be purchased from the local hardware stores or the home improvement stores. Make sure it is clean, dry, free of insects and does not have a funny or bad order that might indicate it has been contaminated. The forest bedding can be obtained from the pet stores. This might come in a hard brick form and may have to be soaked in water. Follow the manufactures instructions that are on the side of the bag. The use of salt in the water will help the hermit crab to obtain some of the minerals that they need for a healthy diet. For the climbing, just a piece of driftwood will work. Just make sure the top of the cage is covered as the crab will climb out.

Can I put Guinea Pigs in a multi-level ferret cage? Or do they need to be in one-level cages??

Several years ago, during a Detroit Tigers home game at Comerica Park, 60 or so herring gulls descended on the stadium, dive bombing players and fans alike. Were they after the foot-long hot dogs?  The ketchup-drenched French fries? The roasted peanuts?  No way. They were gobbling up the recently hatched army moths fluttering about the stadium lights.

While in Comercia’s case, it was moths that provided the snacks, more often, our feathered friends will settle for leftovers provided by fans. It’s a scenario oft repeated in open-air facilities around the country. A stadium’s geographic location can also contribute to the problem. In Comerica’s case, it was their proximity to the Detroit River and several other large bodies of fresh water that accounted for the speedy invasion of gulls.

The best thing you can do is to be very patient. Purchase a fleece bonding pouch and wear it with the glider in it all of the time. Only wear the glider in the pouch doing very sedentary things at first; watching TV and reading a book, for example.
