Rabbit Toys Pet

How to make home maid toys and treats for your pet rabbit?
I am looking for cheep, safe and great toys that I can make for my pet rabbits to play with. Any web links would be great with how to instructions and pictures.
I just can’t see spending $3+ on each toy when I can make them myself cheaper and probably more safe for them. Any and all ideas would be great.
Also any ideas for home made treats for them to eat would be great with web links. Or if any one can send me pictures of things they have made with instructions. (Just e-mail me.)
Thanks all for the info in advance!
Those wooden blocks for toddlers should be fun for a rabbit. So would a pine cone, an empty tin can with the sharp edges flattened, a paper tube as below, an old phone book, an old college textbook, a paper bag, a piece of driftwood, the daily newspaper, a radish, or anything that’s fun to chew or throw around that’s non-toxic.

Mouse Gerbil Small

What small animal (hampster, mouse, rat, gerbil, guinea pig) is the cleanest smelling?
I’ve had Guinea Pigs and hampsters before but it seems like they were pretty darned stinky. Any other good alternatives?
None of the above, they all smell really bad if you don’t clean there cages once a week. I think the cleanest smelling would be a mouse or a dwarf hamster because they are smaller and they don’t poop or urine alot.
Good Luck!:)

Hamster Mouse Mice
As a nation we Brits are generally an animal loving society, most households wouldn’t be complete without extra family members in the form of our much loved dogs, cats and even house rabbits – throw in a hamster, goldfish and the odd mouse or two (hopefully not literally) and you’ve pretty much got the perfect balance.
On a more serious note, the majority of us realise that the health of our pets is important and anything we can do to help maintain this should be undertaken.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that apart from giving our pets a high level of care and much love and attention there is little else we can do – you’d also be wrong; much in the same way as health insurance for ourselves, pet insurance is available to help protect your cherished pets and offer financial assistance in the event of a medical emergency or health condition.

Gerbil Cage Cages

What is the easiest way to clean a gerbil cage?
I have 3 gerbils and it takes hours to clean their cages because they have 3 separate cages and today is the day I have to clean them. Does anyone have an idea of how to clean them in less than an hour?
I used to have 8 rats, all in one cage. It was a hassle to clean the cage because it was so big (four levels), but I don’t think it took even an hour for that one cage.

Gerbil Mice

A mice and a gerbil as friends?
If i put a mice and a gerbil together, wat would happen? would they fight or live together?
In addition to the answers already given: mice and gerbils are different species and have different housing requirements. So housing them together is not an option.
As for just placing them together to see what happens… keeping pets is not a game. Let the poor things interact with their own species and they will be happiest.
If you need more info on mice, let me know and I can send you some links. I know of a few good links on gerbil keeping, too, but I don’t keep them myself, so I can’t help out with specific info for them.

Sugar Glider

If you have taken the time to research sugar gliders and have decided you have the time to commit to them, you may be wondering where you are going to find a decent breeder who as healthy sugar gliders and who knows what they are doing.
One thing I wouldn’t really recommend is buying one from a pet shop if the pet shop in your local area does have sugar gliders. It’s heartbreaking to see how many sugar gliders are kept in small aquariums sitting in pine shavings meant for rabbits or Guinea Pigs. If you have been researching sugar glider care, you know how incredibly inhumane that is.
Do your research on specific breeders before buying from them or on organizations. Although it is hard to be completely sure if a breeder is qualified. I would suggest if the breeder will allow it, ask if you can actually see where the gliders are being kept and how they are raised to make sure the person who is breeding is actually caring for the gliders correctly and not breeding and selling gliders to make a quick buck.

Bird Ferret

Ferret tries to eat bird and ferret doesn’t?
I have 2 ferrets, Jerry and Max. I also have a bird, Fluffy. Jerry tries to eat Fluffy. When I put Max near her, he doesn’t. Even when I’m not looking. Why?
Some ferrets have a strong prey drive. They instictually want to “hunt” small animals.
You should never put your ferrets near your bird. Even if Max has not tried to get you bird before this could change in an instant. Never trust a ferret with a smaller animal.

Snakes are very easy pets to keep because they do not require daily exercise outside the cage. They will spend their entire life in the cage quite happily, which is why you should to make the cage as close to the natural snake habitat as possible. In order to so this, you need to do some research on what this habitat looks like in the wild so that you can have similar features in the enclosure.
There are certain elements of this cage habitat that are extremely important in keeping your pet snake healthy. The most important one is the temperature and the humidity of the cage. Snakes are reptiles and cold-blooded, which means they cannot generate their own body heat to keep them warm. Their bodies adapt to the temperature of the air around them.

Rabbits Guinea

What is a good temperature range for rabbits and Guinea Pigs?
Just would like to know what is a safe temperature range for rabbits and Guinea Pigs to be kept in for long periods of time. Thanks.
Rabbit do better in cooler temps. Rabbits cool themselves by the blood going through their ears. The blood cools when it is in the ear and goes back into the body. When it is hot the rabbit has a harder time to cool off.

Pig Degu

What is the relationship between a gerbil, a degu, and a guinea pig?
They all seem to be genetically linked. I can’t find out how, though. Could anyone please tell me? I’d appreciate the help a lot. And please don’t say that they’re all rodents, I know that but it doesn’t help me at all!
They are linked in they’re all rodents, like you said. However, the gerbil is from a different continent and probably about as closely connected as a coyote and african wild dog. The degu and guinea pig are from roughly the same area and are more likely to have developed from the same basic stock.

The simplest way to lower blood sugar levels naturally is something that is often on the mind of someone that is afflicted with diabetes or illnesses related to excessive blood glucose levels. To learn the way to lower glucose blood levels naturally, you want to first understand precisely what causes high blood sugar levels to start with so you can manage your daily life to lower glucose blood levels naturally.
Let’s explore what causes high glucose levels and learn many ways to reduce sugar and return to normal glucose levels. Blood sugar is in the bloodstream when a person eats food that is laden with carbs.
If your body is manufacturing enough amounts of insulin, the hormone will perform its job and convert the sugar in the blood to energy. When OTT sucrose amounts are present for extended amounts of time in the bloodstream, the sugar can create damage to the internal organs of the body – including the eyes, heart, kidneys and urinary tract, solely to cite a couple.

Bird Toy Toys

What type of materials should I avoid when making bird toys?
I am considering making my own bird toys. I know I should not use anything with zinc on it, but are there any other materials I should avoid that might potentially harm my bird? Please be specific and name anything you can think of.
Along with zinc, exposure to metals such as lead, tin, or nickel can cause heavy metal poisoning in captive birds. Choose stainless steel, whenever possible.

Animal Cage
What are C&C cages and what makes them so popular? Let’s take a closer look at the C&C cage:
As far as we can tell, the original C&C cage design was developed (and made popular) a few years ago by an innovative Guinea Pig Rescue organization. This cage style was developed as a matter of necessity so that the guinea pig shelter could efficiently house a large number of pigs in a cost-effective manner. For this reason, to this day, the C&C cage tends to have a very low cost per square-inch of living space — in other words – C&C cages tend to offer a lot of cage for the money.
The mysterious name C&C originates from the two main materials used to construct this category of small animal cage: Cubes and Coroplast.
The frame and wire lattice portion of the cage is built from wire grids normally used in the assembly of wire grid storage cubes. These square wire grids are usually 14-inches long on each edge. This sort of shelving is often seen in stores or boutiques where clothing or other items are displayed in arrays of wire grid cubes or cubbies. Hence, the first C in C&C comes from the word cube.

How to string together plastic pet toys…?
Whatt can I use to string together several plastic pet toys (shaped like food) so that they can be worn around the waist? (It’s for a costume). Would cord work?
It’s a Seven Deadly Sins costume. The pet toys are the Gluttony portion. They are shaped like burgers, hot dogs, ice cream cones, donuts and Oreo-like cookies. I want to string them together so they can go around the waist. Though your buffet party idea sounds like fun, too.
The method you use depends on if you want to re-use the pet toys or not and also the look you’re trying to achieve.
