Deluxe Sugar

How much can not fasting mess up a cholesterol/triglycerides screening?
I took the test around 6PM. I ate oatmeal for breakfast, had coffee with sugar throughout the day, a Jr. Deluxe hamburger from Wendy’s for lunch. No mayo, no fries, no soda.
Total cholesterol levels and HDL cholesterol can be measured in nonfasting individuals and recent food intake affects plasma total cholesterol concentrations less than 1.5%. However, plasma triglycerides can increase markedly after eating.

Bed Cat Dog

Why is it important to give your favorite four-legged friend a place of his own? Your dog’s bed will benefit your dog’s sleep, comfort, and health for years to come. Many pet owners think that a dog bed is an optional item. However, having a pet bed is an essential item. Dogs spend a good part of every day sound asleep. The comfort and health of your dog depends on a quality sleep. There are many benefits for you and your dog.
Security
Dogs can feel anxious especially when their owner is away. Providing your pet with a special place to call his own will give him a sense of security. It also provides a private area for your dog. Your dog will love the fact that he has a place that is just for him, and in return he might be less likely to curl up on your furniture or bed.
Health
Just like humans, dogs appreciate comfort also. Older dogs as well as younger dogs can start to suffer from joint pain, arthritis and hip problems. Lack of quality sleep can also cause an unwillingness to go for walks and exercise. Make sure to buy the right size dog bed for your best friend. Big dogs need large dog beds! A dog bed’s soft, comfortable cushions feel just as great on a dog’s joints as a mattress or body pillow provides comfort and support for humans. A typical dog bed elevates the animal above the hard ground, supports essential joints and provides a degree of warmth. You may want to consider a orthopedic dog bed.

Advantage Dogs
Is there a difference between Advantage flea control for dogs and for cats?
I’m trying to find the cheapest Advantage for my kitties and ebay has advertised a wholesale amount of advantage that you measure out and administer your self. The ad says it is for cats but the picture that is listed says its for dogs.
I’m wondering if the chemical composition or concentration of Advantage for cats compared to Advantage for dogs is any different?

Combo Pet Bed

Canine parties are now a fact of life for many dog and their owners. If you are invited to a party for a pooch which dog accessories will you need? Maybe you are the one planning the event, you will still need accessories. It will depend on the event of course. If you are going to be a guest at a summer shindig you may want matching beachwear for you and your little furry friend or at least hats and beach towels.
A dog attending any social function should have an appropriate collar and leash. If the event is formal such as a wedding or cocktail party you may prefer something with rhinestones. A tiara might be a nice touch and don’t hold back on the gown or tails (and I don’t mean the canine variety). There are outfits made from satin, lace and other lovely fabrics. These pieces of clothing may also have matching jackets, cloaks or capes.
Holidays are the perfect time for a soiree. Besides fabulous costumes for Halloween and party clothing for Christmas you will find dog accessories made to compliment and adorn. There are charming hats, boots and sweaters. Your dog will look like a million bucks.

Ferret Guinea

Can you keep a Ferret and a Guinea Pig together?
I already have a Guinea Pig and was wondering if you could successfully keep it with a Ferret in the same enclosure?
Would they fight and not get along or would they be fine together?
No! OMG! Okay! In the wild Ferrets instinctively hunted rodents, farmers domesticated them and used them to kill off the rodents that were runing their crops. Now 60 years later Ferrets are kept as pets, but they will intuitively still feel the need to kill a rodent, it is not advisable to put the GP in with a Ferret. Ferrets are very loving and intelligent animals, but they cannot be kept in the same enclosure with GP’s, rabbits, or hamsters.

Let’s face it: Most of us are stuck in jobs that make us feel bored and uninspired. We do it because we think that we have to. After all, no job means no money. Many of us feel trapped in trading time for money. We feel like a hamster running endlessly around the wheel. We either bang our heads against the wall trying to figure out how to change things or we resign ourselves to our current plight, hoping that the promise of a blissful retirement will make all of this worthwhile. But, the sad truth is that 95% of us don’t ever experience a retirement that is as happy or fulfilling as we would have liked.
The problem is that many of us are stuck in an old paradigm. The idea of working nine to five with benefits and a pension is slowly becoming outdated, as it was spurned in the industrial age, which has now passed. With the advent of technology and the internet, we have a whole new way to capitalize upon our interests. We can make money in new and exciting ways. The first thing required is to shift your consciousness into an entirely new way of perceiving money and how it is made. The truth is that in this day and age you don’t need to rely on the steady paycheck in the job that doesn’t serve you year in and year out. That will slowly kill you. So, please, allow yourself the privilege of seeing money from a new vantage point.
The internet now allows just about anybody to make multiple streams of income. This can be done by ‘productizing’ your knowledge and experience in the form of informational offerings such as ebooks and digital downloads. Or you could simply sell other people’s products as an affiliate and earn commissions this way. People are flocking to the internet to search for information on how to solve their problems or make their lives better. You have a unique ability to help a specific segment of the population enhance their quality of life based on your innate attributes and strengths.

1. Your ferret is playful and very energetic and active. If you decide to cage it, you will need to have the one that is very spacious, with some means for him to play. An ideal ferret cage size for one ferret should be at least 18 inches long, 18 inches deep and 30 inches wide. A good choice can be tunnels and multi-leveled ferret cage. It should be roomy enough so that you can have some space for additional cage accessories such as hammocks, toys, litter box, shelves, food dishes, water bottles and such, while still leaving enough area for your ferret to run around.

3. Ferrets cannot withstand to much heat. You have to consider the adequacy of circulating air in choosing a cage. a good choice is a wired cage. Just make sure that the gaps between the wires are not more than 1 inch by 2 inches wide, to ensure that your ferret will not be able to escape.

Are figs a healthy, natural and good treat for rabbits?
I’m eating a fig and i was wondering if my rabbit would enjoy one too!
Yes, in moderation it’s OK for rabbits, but it can create bladder sludge. If this happens then take it away immediately.
http://www.barbibrownsbunnies.com/nutrition.htm
“Some rabbits don’t excrete calcium efficiently and can develop a condition known as bladder sludge where the calcium if not excreted and the bladder fills with the calcium sludge.” Figs are one of the foods that should be avoided if your rabbit has this problem.

Mice Cage Cages
can you make a hamster and mice cage from an old 30 gallon fish tank?
we are buying botha hamster and a mouse for each of my daughters. I would like to use their old fish tanks as a cage, instead of going to buy a cage.
Hi
Aquariums actually make excellent homes for small animals. Just make sure as someone else said, that you have 2 – but you did say “tanks” in your question.
You can find mesh lids in almost any pet store, though you may have to look in the reptile section.
Tanks are much easier to keep clean, and as far as overheating that’s just silly unless you seal them in, or place them too close to a direct heat source or in the summer sun.

Cage Habitat

What sorts of things do dumpy tree frogs need for a good cage habitat?
Tank: White’s tree frogs in the wild spend most of their time in trees, and need an enclosure with lots of climbing room. A minimum 25 gallon aquarium is recommended, and the arboreal type (tall rather than wide, often hexagonal) is better. A tight fitting lid is essential, as these frogs have foot pads that will let them easily scale the side of any aquarium. More than one can be kept in a tank, as long as they are of similar size (otherwise the larger ones may eat the smaller ones).
Substrate: Larger pieces of bark, large sized gravel, or soil can be used, and can be covered with sphagnum moss (which will help retain moisture for humidity). Avoid small sized gravel or bark or the frogs may accidentally ingest it. Some keepers prefer a more bare approach, simply lining the tank with paper or paper towels to facilitate cleaning (it is a bit harder to maintain the appropraite humidity this way, though).
Decoration: Provide lots of branches, large pieces of cork bark, and foliage for climbing – keeping in mind that it needs to be quite sturdy to support these stocky frogs. Live plants can be used, although they must also be sturdy and they must be free of fertilizer or pesticide residues (on the plant or in the soil). Live plants in the terrarium can be kept in small pots to make cleaining the tank easier. Placing a large piece of bark diagonally across the cage, a couple of inches from the back wall will allow the frog to hang from the back of the tank under the cover of the bark to sleep during the day. Alternately, any sort of thick plant cover or hide that allow the frog to hide during daylight hours can be used. Covering the back surface of the tank with dark paper will help the frog find a secluded and dim area to sleep during the day.

Any renter who has got a pet knows exactly how difficult it is to find a pet-friendly apartment complex that would welcome them with open arms. And that is just too bad because the situation can very easily be remedied with a three-word policy: Responsible Pet Ownership.
Landlords who advertise apartments which are vacant do not always designate that their apartment marketing plan does not include or, more strongly, does not allow occupancy by tenants with pets. However, this sad fact is discovered when the want-to-be tenant appears on the scene. Although many pets are frowned up, the rules are sometimes less rigid when it come to fish, birds (canaries, parrots, macaws, cockatoos, etc.), small cages mammals or rodents (rats, mice, Guinea Pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits ), reptiles (snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs) and felines (a.k.a. kitty cats).
It’s the dogs, large and small, which are known to be men’s (and women’s) best friends that have got the bad rap and have acquired the worst reputation for being undesirable and unwanted tenants. That statement is made obvious time and time again by the fact that, on the one hand, many landlords want to fill their vacancy and advertise rentals in newspapers, hang out “Apartment for Rent” signs and sign up with a variety of websites that provide rental advertisement services. On the other hand, the same landlords turn away tenants who respond to the rental advertising on the basis of owning a pet and most specifically a dog.
I suspect that that is so because dogs tend to bark louder than birds chirp, cats mew, snakes hiss and so on. Furthermore, in more cases than not, owners of dogs view their pets as equal (or nearly equal) members of their families and give them too much free reign. This takes me back to the statement I made earlier – … the situation can very easily be remedied in many cases with a three-word policy: Responsible Pet Ownership.

Making a sugar glider bonding pouch?
I am getting two sugar gliders in Febuary. I sew quite a bit and I wanted to make a bonding pouch.
